The Basics
MidValley Healthcare is a comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse treatment facility located in the Boise suburb of Meridian, Idaho. MidValley offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and outpatient care to adults who are struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Treatment is individualized and client-focused through group therapy, and also offers medication management services.
Treatment and Staff
Every incoming client has an in depth assessment performed by a therapist to determine which level of treatment would be the most helpful. If the IOP is the best option, the facility offers up to 10 hours of group therapy per week. There are IOP groups available in the morning and afternoon, and typically the clients would be in sessions three times a week for three hours or so. There are also weekly meetings with the client’s therapist to assess progress and regular sessions with the staff psychiatrist if medication management is necessary. The IOP track usually lasts for a month and a half or so. If the individual and therapist agree that the program goals that were set at the beginning of treatment have been met within that time frame the client has the option of stepping down into a less intensive program, or simply having an individual therapy session once a week to twice a month.
The evidence-based treatment offers different therapy models like CBT, DBT and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). The groups focus on managing cravings, mindfulness practices, anger management and coping with anxiety. There are also trauma-focused groups that offer EMDR and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) techniques, as well as coping skill strategies and identifying triggers. The MidValley staff is a combination of medical doctors and clinical addiction specialists. This includes LCSWs, LCPCs and CADCs.

Ideally this give the individual the opportunity to repair and strengthen relationships that may have been damaged due to their addiction, confidently set boundaries, and allow for new experiences that can be met without drugs or alcohol.
