Hester Hollis Concern Center Review
The Hester Hollis Concern Center is one of five facilities under the Cornerstone Behavioral Health Center umbrella. The parent organization, Grant-Blackford Mental Health, Inc., is a nonprofit corporation that has been in operation for over four decades. CBHC and their sub facilities were absorbed by Grant Blackford to create a unified approach to mental health care and chemical dependency treatment.
Hester Hollis Concern Center is located in Hartford City, Indiana and provides outpatient substance abuse treatment as well as general mental health services. All are welcome, and no individual is turned away for their inability to pay.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to enrollment, potential clients must arrange for an appointment to be seen by intake staff for a bio-psycho-social assessment. Clients with co-occurring disorders are seen by a Psychiatrist who may recommend and supervise medication management services. Hester Hollis Concern Center provides individualized treatment services for adult and adolescent clients with all programming facilitated through a multi-phase process to ensure that clients may comfortably exit their treatment.
Recovery at Hester Hollis guides clients through three phases of treatment which requires attendance of therapeutic services twice per week during the first two phases, and attendance of peer-support groups of some form for the duration of the treatment process. Evidence-based practices are utilized to treat clients, including CBT and DBT techniques.
Phase one is the most intensive of the three and focuses on relapse prevention and psychoeducation. Clients attend both group and individual therapy during this time. The second phase decreases the frequency of individual sessions and replaces them with more frequent attendance of 12-step meetings. The third and final phase of treatment reduces attendance to once per week.
Case management services are also available to help clients with medication, education and employment pursuits. Additionally, assistance with housing or finding a sober living facility is available following treatment. All therapeutic activities are facilitated by CADCs and Master’s-level therapists.
Extras
The Family Behavioral Program is available for those clients wishing to incorporate their loved ones into the recovery process. This family program provides in-home services that work with families to identify issues and resolve outstanding problems. Therapy and conflict resolution through six phases provides clients and their loved ones with the opportunity to heal in the home.
A continuing care program is also available acting as an aftercare solution for clients. Clients may continue their recovery by attending special groups that focus on recovery maintenance and relapse prevention once per week or less frequently.

The substance abuse treatment model at HHCC utilizes a multi-phase and step down system to create a safe space for clients to recover. Case management services help clients develop their mental health and overall life resources so they may fully integrate into the community.
