Case Management / Case Manager: Case Management refers to the comprehensive and collaborative process of identifying a client’s primary care needs; advocating the exploration of all potential options; facilitating treatment and/or medical attention and securing continued stability for both the individual and their family. Oftentimes synonymous with interventionist, a Case Manager certification requires certain education, skills and experience, the specifics of which vary from state to state. Case Managers usually initiate all communication with the client and the necessary resources, and help the client and their families find the most suitable and cost effective treatment options with an overall goal of autonomy and optimal wellness for the client.
