The Basics
Volunteers of America Dakotas provides a wide range of outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Basic dual diagnosis support is available as well. While 12-step is generally the most common approach, SMART Recovery is also considered a peer-supported supplement to therapy.
The staff at Volunteers of America Dakotas includes a multitude of credentials, namely MSWs, LPCs, CADCs, RNs, MDs and case managers.
Extras
Volunteers of America Dakotas provides a range of standalone mental health and behavioral counseling services through LifeMarks Counseling, which is essentially a private practice. Other specialized services include family and marital counseling through the organization’s Relationship University. Safe driving and diversion classes are also offered for DUI/DWI clients as are mental health and addiction assessments. For aftercare, clients are welcome to step down the intensity of therapy and continue attending treatment for as long as needed.
