The Basics
Taylor Life Center is a network of four facilities spread across the state of Michigan with centers in in Flint, Hillsdale, Owosso and Sterling Heights. Offering outpatient counseling services for individuals in need of support with chemical dependency, TLC also provides assistance for couples and families who need help overcoming personal obstacles. TLC is CARF accredited and works to provide clients with focused and individualized treatment using evidence-based therapeutic methods.
Treatment and Staff
Prior to admission, clients are assessed with a psychiatric evaluation which determines the need for medication management or dual diagnosis support. When approved, clients work with staff to create a customized treatment plan that suits their schedule and treatment needs. TLC staff utilize CBT and DBT during sessions to help clients process the reasons behind their substance use and to cope with the mental and emotional effects. Program length is dependent on the client.
Clients participate in both individual and group therapy. Special groups scheduled throughout the week include anger management, batterer’s intervention, adolescent groups and CBT/DBT groups. TLC has a dynamic and trained staff that can provide assistance with additional disorders including eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, OCD, grief and PTSD. Co-occurring disorders support groups are also offered to help clients with additional struggles. While in treatment, clients are also encouraged to attend 12-step meetings to develop a peer support network.
The clinical team includes a psychiatrist, Nurse Practitioners, CSWs, LPCs and a psychologist. The staff also provide referrals so clients can have full access to mental, behavioral and medical resources as-needed.
Extras
Transportation may be provided to and from clients’ homes to help access TLC’s services.

Taylor Life Center provides counseling services for clients in need of chemical dependency treatment as well as general mental and behavioral health resources. Using evidence-based treatment as well as a wide range of specialized groups, clients are given a solid foundation of tools to support them as they work through the challenges of early recovery. Individual, group, couples and family therapy are available as well to help heal relationships and develop healthy communication skills.
