The Basics
Wel-Mor Psychology Group, Inc , formerly known as South Coast Counseling and Psychological Services, has numerous locations throughout Orange County, California devoted solely to outpatient psychological services and substance abuse treatment. The branches that offer chemical dependency treatment are located in Anaheim Hills, Costa Mesa and Laguna Hills. Wel-Mor offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and regular outpatient treatment for those looking to recover from alcohol and drug addiction. No detox is offered at the facilities but they provide psychiatric treatment for dual diagnosis clients.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP requires a minimum of three hours a day with attendance three to five times a week. Random drug testing is done at least three times a week.
Group treatment modalities at Wel-Mor include CBT, DBT, and 12-step programs. Clients can also have one-on-one sessions with a licensed psychologist. Groups consists of fewer than 10 people.
Wel-Mor also offers a low-intensity outpatient program that lasts six to 12 months, requiring attendance only once a week for an hour-and-a-half. Clients enrolled in this program are required to attend a weekly 12-step or other self-help meeting and to be randomly drug tested. Emphasis is placed on ensuring long-term sobriety. Often, this low-level care outpatient program works well for those who have just exited inpatient centers. Though clients aren’t always required to attend individual therapy, it may be recommended.
Staff members include LADCs and a psychotherapist.
Extras
Wel-Mor works with those who are in the criminal justice system and referred to treatment instead of jail. The facility can tailor a client’s program to meet the requirements of a law enforcement agency.
