The Basics
Reflections was founded in 2011 by Louise McCallion, a successful real estate developer whose treatment for depression and anxiety inspired her to earn a Master’s in Psychology and enter the recovery industry. Reflections is known for its upscale, intimate residential program that caters to executives in Novato, California. Reflections also operates an outpatient program that features family therapy and dual diagnosis support.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient clients can enroll at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level of care. PHP clients usually have four to eight weeks of treatment that includes six hours of group and individual therapy each weekday. IOP clients typically have 12 weeks of treatment with three hours of group therapy three days a week and at least one hour of individual therapy each week. PHP clients often step down to the IOP level as they progress.
Reflections’ outpatient treatment team is primarily comprised of LMFTs. Therapy uses CBT and DBT and clients also participate in art therapy, yoga therapy and mindfulness training. Therapists are trained in dual diagnosis support, and Reflections also works with a consulting psychiatrist who provides medication management for co-occurring disorders.
While not a requirement of treatment plans, all clients are encouraged to attend peer support meetings such as 12-step, SMART Recovery or Celebrate Recovery. Reflections can make referrals for clients’ respective communities.
Extras
Clients are encouraged to bring family members to individual therapy for family counseling. For aftercare, clients can attend an alumni group which meets twice a month and includes dinner services.
Reflections also operates an upscale residence nearby that can house PHP and IOP clients while in treatment, for an additional fee.
In Summary
Reflections’ outpatient division offers IOP and PHP treatment in a scenic and luxurious setting in northern California’s infamous Marin County. Clients receive evidence-based therapy as well as mindfulness training, yoga and, if desired, the facilitation of peer-support network involvement. All of these elements combine to enable individuals struggling with addiction, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders to continue healing their emotional and physical lives while meeting obligations at home, work and/or school.
