The Basics
Located in the heart of Denver, Colorado, Recovering Spirit is an outpatient behavioral health facility that offers a variety of therapeutic programs for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. It offers Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), step-down services and extended aftercare, all which utilize evidence-based treatment approaches like CBT. Trauma-informed care, relapse prevention strategies, 12-step principles and holistic methods, such Qi Gong and mindfulness meditation, are also incorporated into treatment. Programs are available for both self-referred and court-ordered clients.
Treatment and Staff
All clients receive an individualized treatment plan offered in three levels: two IOP tracks and one standard outpatient program. The first level is an IOP for clients who have not previously attended residential treatment or an IOP elsewhere. As the most intensive phase, it offers group and individual therapy several times a week, in addition to an introduction to the 12 steps and setting the client up with a sponsor. The next level is a step down from the first, incorporating all the same treatment modalities at a less intense rate. The final level is the standard outpatient program, which is meets in a group setting once or twice a week. In all of the programs, clients receive addition recovery support and education, as well as physical health guidance.
Therapeutic practices include DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), EMDR and holistic options, such as yoga, acupuncture and creative expressive therapies—like music, movement and art. The staff of Recovering Spirit also emphasizes the importance of nutrition, financial balance and overall wellness. Gender-specific issues are also addressed.
This facility’s staff specializes in many different treatment methods and includes Master’s-level therapists with accreditations that include LAC, LMFT, Interventionist and certified play therapist.
