Open since 2008 in Pine City, Minnesota, Meadow Creek Women’s Residential is a specialized program available through Meridian Behavioral Health. The facility offers 28-day residential care which may continue into extended care for between 29 to 120 days with dual diagnosis support. Meadow Creek often handles methamphetamine abuse and is medically supervised 24 hours a day.
Accommodations and Food
Meadow Creek is located an hour north of the Twin Cities. Meadow Creek rests on 80 acres of lush grasslands, surrounded by forest and meadows. Housing and treatment are spread over three different buildings in a campus-like setting. The facility has a total of 50 beds available, with residents typically living two to three to a room. Common areas and bathrooms are also divided equally among the clients staying at Meadow Creek at any given time. All meals are included in the cost of stay, and are prepared and provided for residents.
Treatment and Staff
At Meadow Creek, treatment is individualized based on each clients’ needs. By focusing on each woman’s goals and strengths, programs are customized to address the physical, emotional, and mental health issues of every woman. The facility is methadone-friendly and offers 24-hour medical services.
The women take part in daily group therapy sessions as well as one individual therapy session a week. Meadow Creek also introduces clients to the 12-step principles and offers on-site Women for Sobriety meetings. Other therapeutic offerings include health realization classes, DBT and CBT, yoga and family system dynamics as well as instruction for wellness during pregnancy.
Women with co-occurring behavioral health disorders can receive treatment through the facility’s dual-diagnosis unit. Specialized groups and medication management are provided under the supervision of medical professionals. Meadow Creek’s staff is made up of LADCs. There is always either a psychologist or an equivalent Master’s-level therapist on-site.

Meadow Creek’s program also includes an educational and vocational component so that clients can learn how to reintegrate into working society.
