The Basics
Located in Plano, Texas, Intensive Integration is an outpatient drug rehab. It was founded in 2013 by CEO Michelle Adams, who is also the CEO and founder of Bentley Place, a male-only sober living home, as well as the female-only Recovery Inn. Intensive Integration was established as a result of Adams’ vision to provide comprehensive care. Adams is in recovery and because of her own personal experiences, is determined to help others heal from chemical dependency.
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients undergo an initial comprehensive assessment with an intake counselor to determine an appropriate level of care, as well as to develop an individualized treatment plan. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is 12-weeks, while the outpatient is an eight-week program and typically the next step after completion of IOP.
Weekly IOP includes nine hours of group therapy, and one individual or family session. Group topics include coping skills, relapse prevention, spirituality, self-care, stress management, life skills, processing, and social skills. Outpatient parallels IOP, except the weekly group commitment is six hours. ntensive Integration accommodates 80 clients, and groups range no more than 15 individuals. At Intensive Integration, evidence-based practices, including the Matrix Model and CBT, are utilized during treatment. Psychoeducation groups are incorporated during treatment and consist of multi-media presentations, discussion and guidebooks. While not mandated, attendance at 12-step meetings is encouraged.
A gender-specific women’s trauma group is provided. A psychiatrist provides medication management for clients with co-occurring disorders. Besides Adams, the staff of approximately ten employees includes licensed practical counselors, a medical doctor/staff psychiatrist, administrative support, the clinical director who is a LCDC and an outreach director.
Extras
Art and music therapy are included in the curriculum. During the 12-week IOP, Family Restructuring groups are offered on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Clients are encouraged to attend. The groups include communication skills, addiction education and working on reducing enabling behaviors, as well as identifying dysfunctional family roles.

Adams and her staff are passionate about helping clients recover from substance abuse. Clients also have opportunities to live at the Recovery Inn or Bentley Place, while they focus on their recovery. Intensive Integration is a wonderful option for working men and women who can’t attend an inpatient drug rehab. In conjunction with a 12-step program, Intensive Integration might be just what the doctor ordered.
