The Basics
Located in Nashville, Tennessee, Integrative Life Center offers a men’s sober living facility with individualized treatment. Using evidence-based therapy practices, the facility serves young men in recovery from drugs and alcohol, as well as those with co-occurring issues such as depression and anxiety. The holistic-oriented program is designed for clients who have recently come out of a residential treatment facility, aiming to ease them back into the community.
Accommodations and Amenities
The beautiful two-story house holds up to eight clients at a time, with double-occupancy bedrooms and shared baths. Each bedroom is furnished with double beds, dressers and a desk. All bedding is provided by the facility, as well as the basic toiletries of soap, toothpaste, shampoo and towels.
There are marble countertops and steel appliances in the shared kitchen, as well as a dining room with a large table, multiple living rooms with flat screen TVs, fireplaces, leather couches and a library of books. High -speed Internet is available throughout the house.
Food is provided but clients are expected to prepare their own meals. For those who aren’t too familiar with the kitchen, on-site cooking instruction and meal planning with a staff nutritionist are available. The facility’s wellness program includes weekly recreational and therapeutic activities such as yoga, massages, acupuncture, and art and music festivals. Integrative Life provides a full membership for every client at the local YMCA and encourages frequent attendance.
Rules and Regulations
Treatment at ILC is based on individualized plans that are designed at the initial intake meeting. Every client at the facility is required to attend 12 hours of group and individual therapy weekly while living at the house. Therapies include CBT, EMDR and DBT and clients are required to attend at least five 12-step or other support meetings per week.
Additional therapy practices may include equine therapy, guided meditations and hypnotherapy.
There is no required length of stay at the facility, though clients are encouraged to stay at least six weeks. Getting a job is not mandatory.
The facility has a full-time house manager who arranges schedules and provides information about outside meetings and other activities. The treatment program is overseen by a medical director and is staffed by Master’s-level therapists, psychiatrists, LPNs, LCSWs and nutritionists.
Extras
There is a family program that may be integrated into weekly therapy sessions if requested by the client. Visitation and weekend passes are allowed with prior approval by house management.
