The Basics
Integrative Counseling offers basic outpatient care and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. With five locations in and around Columbia, Maryland, Integrative Counseling has been in operation for a decade. Offering detox using Suboxone and medication management to assist individuals with opioid addictions as well as a dual diagnosis treatment program for young adults between the ages of 19 and 26 is available in partnership with Congruent Counseling Services.
Treatment and Staff
After an assessment, clients are placed in either the standard outpatient program or IOP. The duration of both programs is progress-based, with each client working with staff to formulate an individualized program that allows them to step down as they progress through treatment. Clients in the IOP attend group therapy three times a week, while clients in basic outpatient attend once or twice a week. Groups don’t exceed ten participants and explore relapse prevention and co-occurring disorders using CBT and DBT. Individual therapy is scheduled as needed for an additional fee. Participation in 12-step meetings is suggested but not required, and staff will furnish clients with a list of nearby meetings.
Integrative Counseling’s psychiatrists can prescribe Suboxone and recommend that patients attend either the facility’s opioid addiction support group or other similar community-based substance abuse therapy groups throughout the week.
The treatment team at Integrative Counseling is extensive and includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, ADTs, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs), Certified Addiction Counselors (CACs), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADCs) and LCSWs.

Integrative Counseling offers family therapy, DUI services, anger management counseling and a DBT-informed counseling program for teens.

In addition to offices in Columbia, clients can attend sessions in Olney, Millersvilles, Sykesville and Towson.
