Idaho Falls IdahoThe Basics

Integrated Family and Community Services has been offering outpatient substance abuse services in Idaho Falls, Idaho since 2012. It also offers mental health counseling and case management services and partners with a neighboring Nurse Practitioners Care office to provide clients with medical services.

Treatment and Staff

After an assessment, clients and clinicians work together to create a treatment plan and are either enrolled in a basic outpatient track or the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Clients on the outpatient track typically attend two or three group therapy sessions for a total of four to nine hours a week. Clients in the IOP attend three or four group sessions a week totaling nine to 12 hours. Clients in both programs meet with their counselor for individual therapy once a week.

Modalities used in group and individual therapy include Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT), CBT and DBT. The duration of treatment is dependent upon which groups the client is assigned to. The DBT and Symptom Management groups meet for 16 weeks, the relapse prevention group for 12 weeks, and the Connections group for six weeks. Clients can elect to repeat a course if they desire. IFCS also offers a women’s-only trauma recovery group.

Groups never exceed sixteen participants and are facilitated by LCSWs, Master’s-level social workers and CADCs who are qualified to support clients requiring treatment for dual diagnosis.

Extras

Recently, a foundation donated funds to the state for the purpose of supporting substance abuse treatment in the community and IFCS will help potential clients connect with the state agency to access those funds.

IFCS also offers DUI services and Integrated Based Stress Reduction (IBSR) and EMDR for trauma recovery.

In Summary

Integrated Family Services offers a variety of evidence-based therapy options to respond to each client’s needs and preferences. With a range of modalities and access to treatment funds through an outside grant for financial support, IFCS may be a strong option for those who have resisted recovery due to financial constraints or negative experiences with ineffective treatment models.
