The Basics
Based out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Insight Human Services is a CARF-accredited behavioral health facility that provides a range of community-oriented behavioral health services. Aside from prevention and intervention programs, the organization also offers outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff develop individualized treatment plans. While the specifics of each plan may vary, treatment is based on the Seven Challenges for adolescents and the Matrix Model for adults, using a combination of individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET). Dual diagnosis support is also provided.
While clients are encouraged to attend off-site 12-step meetings in addition to therapy, it is not a requirement. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is also available for those also going through the facility’s ambulatory detox program. Both the outpatient and IOP tracks feature similar therapy methods, though IOP meets three days a week for three hours at a time while the standard outpatient is more flexible.
The staff at Insight Human Services consists of LPCs, LCSWs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Insight offers female-specific outpatient treatment through The Women’s Recovery Center in Asheville. These services include a day treatment track and a perinatal program with case management.
Additional services include outreach programs for local schools designed to teach anger management, conflict resolution, problem solving and other pro-social behaviors. The facility has a number of referral-based services including a drug education school, community intervention centers and recidivism reduction plans. Insight Human Services also offers residential treatment and step-down outpatient as a form of aftercare.
