Innovation 360 Dallas Review
Innovation 360 Dallas was founded 10 years ago to provide outpatient “treatment in the midst of life.” It offers a standard Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as well as a concierge-like experience that creates a behavioral healthcare team for each client. This “Life Development Team” creates a responsive treatment plan that includes coaching, support and therapy tailored to each client’s weekly activities, obligations and goals.
The Executive Director of Innovation 360 Dallas is Kevin Gilliland, Psy. D., the author of Struggle Well, Live Well, which “provides no-frills advice on how to deal with your triggers, your partners, your vices and your spirituality.”
Innovation 360 opened an Austin location two years ago that focuses on the Life Development Team component of treatment; it plans to open an IOP in the near future. Innovation 360’s treatment teams often help clients recognize the depth of their substance abuse challenges and ease their transition into inpatient treatment. Teams also can be effective in helping clients transition out of inpatient treatment into independent life in recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Innovation 360 is based on the center’s “7 Pillars of Life Development” philosophy. The pillars include substance abuse, mental health, spiritual health, physical health, relationships, work/school and emerging adulthood, which addresses a client’s growing responsibilities and need for complex goals. The center also has groups and clinicians that specialize in mature clients.
The IOP is eight weeks long and consists of group therapy Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 12 pm. Clients may also have individual therapy as-needed. Groups address relapse prevention, identifying triggers and developing coping skills. A woman’s group for clients over 35 is held weekly, as are yoga classes geared towards helping clients process trauma.
In the Life Development team program, a client meets with a primary therapist who then gives “marching orders” to their team regarding the goals and treatment activities for the week. Clients may have additional individual therapy appointments, job training classes, 12-step or SMART Recovery meetings, and drug testing. Their team can also help them locate inpatient and sober living programs.
The IOP therapists and Life Development teams may include LCDCs, LPCs, LCSWs, recovery technicians and coaches. Innovation 360 also has two psychiatrists who provide dual diagnosis support. Therapy uses a harm-reduction approach as well as CBT and Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT). Innovation 360 also has a weekly DBT skills group, which can be effective at treating eating disorders and chronic relapse.
Depending on need, Innovation 360 may act as a client’s primary or secondary support service. The cost of treatment varies greatly depending on the comprehensiveness of each client’s team. Prices usually range from $3,500 for several hours of support each week to $40,000 per month for 24/7 support and supervision.

Innovation 360 Dallas hosts a parents’ group each Monday for addiction support and education.
Innovation 360 Dallas also partners with the nearby Cooper Institute to provide substance abuse treatment alongside its luxury housing and physical health programs.
