Center for Life Change Review
The Center for Life Change, a non-profit organization based in Riverside County California, first opened its doors in 2013. Following the 12-step program is encouraged by CLC, but its own focus is more on education and traditional therapy using CBT and relapse prevention. Its substance abuse treatment options include a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and basic outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents. Treatment takes place within small groups of 10 or fewer clients with both day and evening sessions available.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at the CLC begins with a free clinical assessment. Those enrolled in the PHP, IOP or outpatient program require clients to participate in individual and group therapy based on an individualized schedule which adheres to each client’s specific needs. Clients spend five days a week in treatment attending group at least three hours each day. Clients also undergo drug testing twice weekly and have one individual session. The PHP runs Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (Mondays from 2:30 to 5:30 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 12:30 pm) and Wednesdays and Fridays in the evenings (from 6 to 9 pm). Clients also have access to “clinical family support,” which are structured healing-focused workshops for clients and their families. The CLC PHP operates 30 hours a week; the IOP brings clients down to nine weekly hours, while basic outpatient treatment goes further down to six. The adolescent outpatient option also runs for six treatment hours a week.
The Center for Life Change employs three on-site LACs. It also collaborates with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, EMDR specialists and neuropsychologists in the area.
Extras
In cases where detox is necessary, CLC provides referrals. Some further perks available are the free family night, counseling and case management. Additionally, CLC coordinates treatment with each client’s primary physician.
In Summary
Those seeking a comprehensive and flexible outpatient program allowing them to step-down in intensity will find this facility a solid option. Insurance is accepted and CLC helps clients through the approval process. Even without insurance, the cost for a month at CLC is lower than most alternatives and open to negotiation depending on clients’ finances.
