The Basics
Based in the southern Georgia town of Valdosta, Bennett Oaks Drug Treatment is an outpatient-based program for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The program is owned and operated through Volunteers of America Southeast, a broad organization with a range of additional behavioral programs for clients throughout the region.
Treatment and Staff
Detox is not available on-site at Bennett Oaks but referrals can be provided to the appropriate facility for clients in need. Programs may vary depending on each person’s unique circumstances but each treatment plan generally includes individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Basic dual diagnosis support is available and clients also attend regular 12-step meetings at the facility. While there is flexibility for different schedules, clients generally attend treatment three times a week for three hours per session. Group sessions incorporate the Matrix Model, trauma-informed care, parenting skills, emotional processing and the Gorski Relapse Prevention method.
Bennett Oaks’ staff features RNs, LPCs, MFTs, case managers and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Bennett Oaks offers standalone drug screenings, mental health assessments and drug testing services. Court-ordered and self-referred clients are both welcome to attend as well. Those in need of aftercare can work with staff members to develop stepped down treatment plans.
