The Basics
Based out of Burbank, California, Wisdom Treatment is a multi-faceted behavioral health organization that offers programs to men and women seeking treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. It requires a minimum 90-day commitment from clients. In addition to its sober living services, Wisdom Treatment also has standalone outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members determine their needs. Those who need to detox can do so on-site before continuing on to therapy. While standard outpatient plans are mostly used as an aftercare option and are highly individualized, IOP generally meets a minimum of three days a week for three hours per session.
Each of the above programs consists of individual, group and family therapy rooted in evidence-based treatment consists of CBT, DBT and EMDR. Dual diagnosis support and trauma-informed care are both facilitated with medication management services available too. Groups cover a wide range of topics including anger management, addiction education, criminal behavior, life skills and emotional processing. All clients are also expected to remain active in a 12-step program as well.
The staff at Wisdom Treatment consists of RNs, CADCs, LCSWs, LPCs and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Other services include parenting classes, a domestic violence and battery program and alternative sentencing options for court-ordered clients. Culturally-specific care for Armenians and Russians is also provided, as is support for early interventions whenever necessary. Standalone drug and alcohol education classes are also available. Those who complete a primary care regimen can work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans.
