The Basics
Part of the Valley Hope Association, an expansive non-profit founded in 1967, Wichita Valley Hope is an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility in Wichita, Kansas. The program is open to both men and women and provides flexible and affordable individualized treatment plans.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, clients proceed into either the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or the IOP Plus track, which includes an added online therapy component. For clients coming out of detox, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is available as necessary.
Both outpatient tracks include group and individual therapy rooted in evidence-based practices such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Groups also cover a variety of recovery-related topics. Clients are expected to attend regular 12-step meetings outside of treatment hours.
Staff includes LACs, chaplains, LMFTs and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Family involvement is considered an integral part of the program at Wichita Valley Hope so relatives receive emotional support services and education as well. These family-oriented services are also open to the local community, regardless of enrollment in treatment.
Aftercare in the form of weekly hour-long group sessions are available, with flexible meeting times to accommodate a number of schedules. The facility also hosts a monthly on-site AA meeting for alumni and friends as well as a renewal night—a special AA meeting that commemorates important sobriety dates—every third Friday of the month. For each year they have sober, alums receive a Valley Hope coffee mug on their anniversary date.
