Following discharge from detox, WAVE administers Vivitrol as an injection that blocks opioid receptors in the brain for one month at a time. Consequently, clients are able to focus on recovery without having to worry about relapse. Individuals transition out of detox into either the PHP or IOP.
The PHP lasts five days a week for seven hours a day. The length of PHP depends on the needs of the individual, however generally care plans may range from two to four weeks. Upon completion, many clients step down to IOP. The IOP takes place three times a week between 6 and 9 pm. The evening schedule allows clients to participate in consistent therapy without taking off time from work or school.
WAVE fosters a bio-psycho-physical approach to care. It integrates evidence-based methods, traditional therapy, case management and medication management. Clients engage in regular group and individual sessions rooted in CBT, DBT and solution-focused therapy. It’s also worth noting, the facility provides skills training as well as employment services.
Following PHP and IOP, most clients continue with outpatient care on a weekly basis. Standard outpatient includes hour-long individual and group therapy sessions.
WAVE has a team of clinicians, therapists and physicians. Medication management and medical services are integral aspects of the treatment curriculum.
