The Basics
Since 2002, Eugene, Oregon based Vista Counseling and Consultation has been helping individuals, couples and families achieve their goals by identifying what may have been holding them back. Treatment is geared toward clients who are struggling with mental health disorders, like depression and anxiety, and for those who have been through a trauma or have an eating disorder. Additionally, there are assessment services for clients of all ages who are dealing with ADHD or impulsivity issues.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment uses evidence-based approaches usually within an individual setting, through there are couples and family counseling options. Initially, clients are paired up with one of the therapists who have a consultation to figure out how they can help the individual, and from there put together a treatment plan. For the most part the treatment is collaborative and offers skills training and alternative methods for stress reduction, decision making skills, dealing with grief and loss, relationship issues and more. Essentially the aim is to empower clients to trust themselves to make healthy choices.
Clients who come to Vista for ADHD evaluations receive a thorough assessment that examines current behaviors in terms of concentration, and academic or cognitive concerns to provide an accurate diagnosis. In some instances the behaviors that the client has been exhibiting are due to stress or a learning disability. If that is the case there are counseling and other coaching options offered. There are also, in some cases, medication management services that clients can be referred to. Vista works with several reputable outside agencies who are able to provide a consultation for medication.
A wide array of evidence-based protocols are used during treatment, with the staff specializing in several modalities. This includes CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), EMDR and more using a strength based approach.
The large staff is made up of Master’s-level clinicians who are LCSW, LPC, LMFT and PSYD.
Extras
In addition to counseling clients, can also receive coaching sessions that can help with relationships, work issues and feelings of immobilization.
