The Basics
Licensed by the State of Minnesota, the Transformations House II for Women has been operating out of Fridley, Minnesota since 1990. Transformations House II is a sober living home solely for female clients and offers support, community and a safe environment to clients who are newly sober. Women are invited to stay for 30 to 90 days and in this time participate in traditional therapy.
Accommodations and Amenities
Transformations House II accommodates women in two homes—House A and House B. House A has remodeled apartments that accommodate four women each, sleeping 28 total. Rooms are furnished with dressers and a large shared closet and shared bathroom.
House B is designated for those clients who require more structure. It consists of eight apartments, which house a maximum of 20 women at a time with two to three in each unit. Both house A and house B share the same address and are adjacent to one another. All meals at both houses are included in the cost of stay, with food purchased and prepared by staff.
Rules and Regulations
Prior to admission, clients undergo an intake assessment. Each client is assigned a primary counselor upon intake. The Transformation House program is structured, with residents participating in group therapy Monday through Friday from 9 am to 8 pm. Discussion topics cover a variety of topics, including substance abuse and recovery education, spirituality and relapse prevention. All plans are individualized with attendance requirements dependent upon need. Some group sessions take place at the Transformations House main office (15 minutes away from the housing facilities) and transportation is provided. The rest of the groups take place on-site in the apartment complexes.
Transformations House II staff consists of LADCs and LCDCs.
Extras
In an effort to help create a sense of community and camaraderie among residents, activities and social outings are organized on weekends. Treatment also honors the spiritual background of each client, while encouraging them to develop their spiritual connection to support lasting recovery.
