The Basics
Opened in January 2016, Tranquil and Quest is a brand new high-end sober living facility that operates out of four ocean front condos on the Jersey Shore in Bradley Beach, New Jersey. Tranquil and Quest caters to young adults, between the ages of 18 and 29. Their mission is to provide a holistic ambience, so that clients can learn to become happy and relaxed, without feeling the need to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol.
Accommodations and Amenities
At Tranquil and Quest, each gender-specific condo houses up to five clients in either singe or double occupancy rooms. The condos include a gourmet, fully equipped kitchen, a lounge space and a recreation room, which has fitness and work out equipment. The bedrooms are luxurious. A single room includes a full sized bed with a silver metal canopy, pale white and blue comforters, contemporary lamps, a white faux fur rug, modern white tables, and a flat screen TV. Amenities include transportation, laundry services, Wi-Fi and Cable TV.
Onsite dieticians design the menus. Vegetarians and special needs diets are accommodated. A private chef prepares three daily gourmet meals. Breakfast includes smoothies and gourmet coffee. Entrees include fresh green veggies, lean meats or New American salmon. Clients are provided with in-house cooking classes, which teach them basic life skills. Each residence has onsite, around the clock staff.
Rules and Regulations
Potential clients have the option of requesting in-home evaluations. A staff therapist visits the client at home, and conducts an assessment to ensure that Tranquil and Quest is an appropriate fit. Those at various stages of recovery are accepted. Preferably, they have undergone 30 days of primary care and they must have also undergone detox.
Once accepted, clients receive individualized recovery protocols. Licensed substance abuse therapists and psychiatrists utilize both Eastern and Western treatment methods while designing the recovery plans. Since attendance at an outpatient drug rehab is mandatory, the appropriate level of care is also determined during intake. A 30-day length of stay commitment is required.
Clients must wake up at 7 am Sundays through Saturdays. After breakfast, they attend a local outpatient program, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) between the hours of nine and three, seven days a week. Since Tranquil & Quest is a sober living facility, all treatment takes place off site. Residents attend outpatient care at GenPsych PC, a substance abuse and addiction treatment facility, which provides dual diagnosis support.
At Tranquil and Quest, the curfew is 11 pm seven days a week. Clients must also attend daily 12-step or SMART Recovery meetings and they are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings. Those who relapse are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Intimate relationships are also strictly forbidden. The 30-day cost for a shared room is $20,000, and outpatient care is not included.
Extras
Clients must participate in various degrees of in-house programming, which includes massage therapy, yoga, meditation, music therapy, fitness classes, cooking classes, movie and game nights and art therapy.
During the month of January 2016, the first six clients enrolled at Tranquil and Quest will receive a discounted, 30-day cost of $8,000 during the duration of their stay.
