Total Life Counseling has numerous locations throughout the state of Florida. Total Life specializes in the care of clients of all ages struggling with an array of issues including marital problems, grief and loss and a range of eating and substance use disorders, surface additions as well as co-occurring mental health disorders like depression, anxiety and trauma. The facility offers individualized treatment programming that integrates individual, group and family therapy, rooted in evidence-based practices and holistic approaches. There are outpatient therapeutic services for clients with substance use disorders in Orlando, Winter Park, Clermont, Lake Mary and East Orlando.
Treatment and Staff
Total Life treats a host of issues including couples, premarital and marital problems like infidelity and divorce, codependency, learning disorders like ADHD, adolescent defiance, family issues as well as eating disorders, substance disorders, surface addictions and a range of mental illnesses like trauma, OCD and depression. Before beginning therapy, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that helps the Total Life team determine the most effective personalized treatment solution tailored to the specific needs of the client. Total Life believes in treating the root cause or causes of the individual’s issues. As such, the facility provides a multi-faceted approach to care that incorporates a number of therapies from different disciplines. These include traditional individual, group and family counseling, psychoeducation, skills and process groups, experiential therapy, holistic measures and evidence-based practices.
Clients engage in CBT, DBT, the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and EMDR. The facility offers various holistic therapies like art therapy and play therapy as well as spiritual counseling, if desired. Total Life also provides classes on anger management and divorce education. In addition, younger clients are encouraged to participate in leadership camp, horse day camp and dance camp.
It’s worth noting that the 12-step recovery is not a component of the programming. Without a physician or psychiatrist on staff, Total Life does not offer medication management. The Total Life Counseling multi-disciplinary team is comprised of LMHCs, CSWs, MFTs, PhD-level counselors, registered interns, addiction specialists and coaches.
