The Basics
Therapy Services LLC is a small mental health facility based out of Burlington, Kansas. The facility was founded by and is still overseen by Gayle Taylor-Ford, a mental health professional who specializes in traumatic brain injury. With a staff of experienced therapists and administrative professionals, Therapy Services provides a safe and intimate environment for clients to seek recovery. Outpatient substance abuse treatment is provided as are medical transportation, parenting information and treatment for co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Therapy Services is individualized and is modified as they progress through the program. Before admission, clients must be seen for an assessment to ensure they are a good fit for services provided. In addition to standard screenings, Therapy Services also provides DUI assessments for clients with court obligations. There are no detox services available, but staff provide referrals to recommended facilities as needed.
Four tracks are available at Therapy Services: a DUI and Substance Abuse course, Level One Outpatient, Level Two Outpatient and SB123, a program that helps those convicted of non-violent drug related offenses avoid jail time. Clients who complete treatment may also enroll in continuing care groups that focus on relapse prevention.
All programs follow a 12-step recovery model and therapists utilize evidence based methods including CBT techniques while facilitating group and individual therapy and family therapy. The Matrix Model and A New Direction are also utilized as treatment materials.
Clients qualifying for more intensive treatment are enrolled in Level One Outpatient. Each client has an individualized treatment program and may attend anywhere from one to eight hours of therapeutic activities per week. Clients requiring more supervision are enrolled in Level Two Outpatient which requires nine to 15 hours per week of treatment, with both therapy and education groups in addition to individual sessions. Psycho-education classes are designed for clients with court required treatment requirements. For eight hours total, clients attend focused classes that highlight the effects of long term substance abuse.
All clients must also attend a minimum of three AA/NA meetings per week. Getting a sponsor and working the twelve steps is highly recommended as a supplement to the program.
Staff credentials include LCSW, LCAD and Master’s-level certifications.
Extras
Therapy Services also provides a SB123 program, an alternative sentencing program for drug offenders in Kansas. SB123 clients attend weekly groups to fulfill their requirements.
Clients who have completed any of the treatment programs may attend continuing care groups to remain connected to treatment. Groups run for one hour once per week and focus on relapse prevention skills and maintaining relationships with fellows in their support groups.

Therapy Services provides multi-level outpatient substance abuse treatment with both programs for court-ordered individuals and self-referrals. Through 12-step methods and evidence based treatment techniques, the clinical staff help clients to identify and change damaging behavior and develop healthy coping skills. Therapy Services provides the foundation for recovery allowing clients to build lasting sobriety.
