The Basics
Based outside Houston in Missouri City, Texas, The Solace Center is a small behavioral health facility that provides outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The facility’s IOP offers clinical and medical care designed to keep clients from being hospitalized.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all participants go through an intake assessment so that the staff can work on their individualized treatment plans. Though on-site detox is not available, those in need can get referrals to nearby programs. Treatment may vary significantly from client to client though each plan includes individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices like CBT; though each clinician uses his or her own selective modalities. Dual diagnosis support is available too, including medication management. Though support for addiction and substance abuse is available, 12-step participation is not always required. Typically speaking, clients attend three to five sessions a week for three weeks.
The staff at The Solace Center consists of MDs, LPCs, LCSWs, psychiatrists and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Other resources available include basic counseling services for other issues like self-esteem, relationship issues and job-related stress as well. Those with more persistent mental health issues that are resistant to therapy can also go through Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) sessions. Finally, clients who complete primary care can work with staff members to develop stepped down aftercare plans as well.
