The Program of West Palm Beach’s sober living facilities offers separate residences for men and women in outpatient programs, or for those transitioning out of treatment. The various facilities throughout South Florida provide safe environments for those in recovery while surrounded by supportive peers and house staff.

Accommodations and Amenities

The Program’s facilities are spread out around South Florida and feature a mix of townhouse style homes and apartments that can accommodate anywhere from 20 to 45 residents at a time.

The men’s facilities are The Circle House, The House of Principles, The Way of Recovery and The Salvage Yard while the women’s residence is called The Enclave. Accommodations vary, though all houses come with spacious bedrooms, some of which are private while others host up to three to a room. There are private and shared bathrooms, depending on the size of the house and number of clients, though no more than three residents ever share a restroom.

All the homes offer large spaces, new furniture, new appliances in the kitchens and bathrooms and on-site laundry facilities. Other amenities include gym memberships, large HD televisions in bedrooms with free cable and free high-speed internet. Clients at The Salvage Yard can also take advantage of massages, chiropractic services and an on-site pool. Most of the facilities also have cleaning supplies, linens and toiletries, with the exception of towels. In all the above, clients are only responsible for bringing their personal items and supplying their own food (aside from The House of Principles, which provides meals for residents).

Rules and Regulations

Though it is not required to be in treatment while living in The Program’s sober living houses, it is strongly encouraged. If a client is not attending an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), all facilities require that residents get a job, attend school or volunteer for a minimum of 20 hours per week. All locations have weekly drug and alcohol tests as well as morning meetings with the house staff.

Attending regular 12-step meetings and getting a sponsor is mandatory for all residents. Clients are also required to complete weekly assigned weekly chores and to stick to house curfews. Relapse is grounds for immediate dismissal from the house. Maintaining accountability and responsibility to other residents is required. The minimum required stay at the above facilities is six months, though many stay for up to a year. After being a part of the house for 30 days, residents may request weekend passes to visit their families.

The house staff at all locations are all sober and have been through treatment programs themselves. All are available 24 hours a day to the clients and can assist with anything they need, including referrals to outpatient programs.

Extras

For those who do decide to attend The Program’s IOP, discounted rates are available. Such reductions in price are decided on a case-by-case basis.

Sober activities like BBQs, beach trips and shopping are often planned for residents of the different homes.

In Summary

The Program of West Palm Beach’s sober and transitional living facilities all offer safe residences with structure and accountability for those in the beginning stages of sobriety. Becoming a resident at one of these homes means being surrounded with 24 hour support while healing and re-learning how to live free of drugs and alcohol.
