Treatment and Staff
Dr. Hart works within a private counseling setting, so clients have a lot of one on one attention. He generally recommends a minimum of six sessions in order to achieve any success through his treatment plans. One of Dr. Hart’s philosophies is that his clients don’t necessarily need to label themselves as an addict in order to receive helpful recovery treatment. He aims to offer his clients alternatives to rehab by educating them on what is available in terms of treatment options. This includes introducing them to the 12 steps and SMART Recovery, and steering clear of labels that may induce a feeling of shame. In addition, Dr. Hart also orchestrates and assists interventions for families and early intervention services for adolescents.
There are programs specifically geared towards clients who have chronic or high risk psychiatric concerns, like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, have a co-occurring disorder or have recently overdosed or taken lethal doses of drugs or alcohol. For these clients he offers a risk assessment and provides harm reduction therapy modalities along with intensive therapy options utilizing evidence-based approaches like CBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Additionally, he provides referrals to receive medication management.
Dr. Hart also offers treatment programs for those who are dealing with an eating disorder, porn or shopping addiction, anger issues or chronic relapse. Additional treatment approaches are DBT, Stages of Change, EMDR, PTSD treatment and psychoeducation. He also focuses on impulse control, self regulation and learning how to make healthy changes.
Dr. Hart can offer programs for smoking cessation, social phobia treatment and couples counseling options.
Dr. Hart specializes in behavioral change theories and providing his clients with strategies to help them lessen or eliminate habits that are self sabotaging or harmful to themselves and others. He offers honest evaluations when it comes to chemical dependency to help his clients decided whether or not they have an actual addiction or are simply making choices that can lead to decisions that are unhealthy, and from there learn how to adjust their thinking and choose different personal paths. In any case, Dr. Hart’s main focus is to help his clients feel confident and secure by learning new skills that they can apply to any situation when it comes to their personal struggles.
