The Basics
The Edge Recovery is a substance abuse treatment organization for men and women located in Coral Springs, Florida. The Edge offers adults a program designed to promote healing from the physical, emotional and spiritual trauma of addiction and co-occurring disorders. The continuum of care includes detox, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
The Edge Recovery offers individualized treatment for every client. An assessment determines where new clients fit on the continuum of care. Those requiring detox can begin with medically monitored care on-site at the clinical location for typically five to seven days. During detox, medical staff provide medications to make clients feel as comfortable as possible. Those with co-occurring disorders can expect psychological support and psychiatric medication management. After detox, clients can transition to one of the outpatient programs.
PHP is five days a week, and consists of about four hours of group a day, at least one individual session a week and AA/NA meetings. After a period of about 30 days, clients can transition to the IOP, which meets three to five times a week for three hours of group therapy. The IOP usually lasts six weeks, though the total length in the program can vary. Therapy methods in all programs include psychoeducation, CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
The staff is made up an MD, a RN and Master’s-level therapists whose credentials include CADCs and LCSW.
Extras
The continuing care program serves as a step-down from intensive treatment. Typically, clients attend group once a week and one individual session a month. The Edge Recovery also offers a family program for loved ones that includes group therapy and classes.
