The Basics
Located just miles from the beach in Clearwater, Florida, Tampa Bay Sober Living not only provides luxury in a safe and structured sober living environment, but also opportunities for recreational fun. With gender-specific houses to choose from in the Tampa area, both provide the comforts of home while still maintaining a strict program for clients to get the best out of their recovery and stay sober after they leave.
Accommodations and Amenities
Accommodations at TBSL are split into two houses, one for men—overlooking a park and lake—and one for women just outside of the park; both are close to all bus stops and beaches. Homes are apartment-style and have the same amenities; shared bedrooms with full sized beds, cable, flat screen TVs, free wifi, on-site washers and dryers, a fully equipped kitchen, large living rooms and sitting areas. The women’s house has an outdoor common area with picnic tables and colorful umbrellas.
Rules and Regulations
TBSL’s services are offered at either “Level II” or “Level III.” Level II services include all the amenities of the house, a live-in house manager and a peer support community. At a higher cost, Level III services include all of the above as well as recovery coaching, life skills coaching, resume building, job networking, public assistance networking and medication assistance and monitoring.
Regardless of the service level, all residents must follow the house guidelines including daily attendance of a 12-step meeting, finding a sponsor (within the first two weeks), agreeing to random drug testing, general productivity and appropriate use of free time and of course being respectful and clean.
Extras
In addition to sober living houses, TBSL prides itself on being responsible members of the local sober community. As such, there are monthly gatherings which include BBQ’s, sports and recreation, games, yoga classes, beach outings and more.
