The Basics
Kendrick Cottage is a luxury sober living home in the upscale London borough of South Kensington. Founded in 2017, Kendrick Cottage is part of the bigger UK recovery network, Start2Stop. Kendrick Cottage is ideal for individuals completing an inpatient program who need a supportive living environment before returning home. Start2Stop offers outpatient care strongly rooted in the 12 steps. Programming is open to all types of addictions. Dual diagnosis support is also available.
Accommodations and Amenities
The housing facility is a mews style home, which is a multi-story flat formerly referred to as a “carriage house.” The bright and spacious home is designed to be upscale. Large bedrooms are private and furnished with queen beds.
The surrounding neighborhood is close to grocery stores, transportation and employment. In addition, there are several recovery meetings within walking distance. Common areas include a living room with plush couches and mounted TV, a generous dining room and a state-of-the-art kitchen.
There is also Wifi throughout the house. Clients are permitted to have their laptops and cell phones.
Rules and Regulations
All incoming clientele must have completed an inpatient program, either with Start2Stop or another facility. Residents should no longer need daily, structured programming but for clients that opt to participate, a day program is offered.
Weekly counseling sessions are mandatory, along with random drug screenings. Residents must also attend house meetings led by the house managers and recovery assistants. If a client decides he or she needs more frequent individual sessions, the staff is able to oblige.
The staff of Kendrick Cottage and Start2Stop includes Master’s-level psychologists as well as psychiatrists and addiction counselors.
Extras
There is a free aftercare program offered to all graduates of the primary program at Start2Stop, or former residents of Kendrick Cottage.
