The Basics
Based out of Georgetown, Delaware, Serenity Properties is an expansive organization that provides sober living homes for men and women in recovery. The company runs five residences throughout the Georgetown area and offers flexible lengths of stay.
Accommodations and Amenities
Serenity Properties operates three homes for men, accommodating up to 16 residents total, and two for women, which can host up to 12 total. All residences are situated in quiet neighborhoods and feature private bedrooms, cable TV and Wifi. Common areas include a dining room and full kitchen, where residents are expected to prepare their own meals.
Rules and Regulations
Residents must remain sober throughout their stay and submit to regular and random drug testing. Clients are required to abide by a basic house behavioral contract that prohibits violence, possession of weapons and other behavior related to general safety. Residents may have visitors from 12 to 7pm on the weekends with house managers’ permission. The initial 30 days include a blackout period where clients cannot use their cell phones or computers. To move out of this phase, they must find a sponsor, a home AA or NA group and a full-time job. Also during the first month, residents are expected to attend at least one 12-step meeting a day and bi-weekly group counseling on site.

All homes are conveniently located near commercial areas, recovery meetings, public transportation and more. The organization can also provide referrals to nearby counseling services for those in need of additional support or aftercare.
