The Basics

Founded in 2007, Seeds of Hope specializes in the care of clients struggling with eating disorders in addition to individuals with co-occurring conditions. This CARF-accredited facility provides a comprehensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient treatment in 16 locations throughout the state of Pennsylvania. With separate programming for adult and teenage clients, Seeds of Hope specializes in client-centered solutions. To this end, it utilizes a multi-theoretical approach that integrates an array of therapeutic methods including holistic practices, psychoeducation, nutritional therapy and evidence-based models like CBT, DBT and ACT. While the 12-step recovery model is not a component of programming, medication management is available for clients with psychiatric conditions.

Treatment and Staff

The Seeds of Hope located in Exton, Pennsylvania, an hour west of Philadelphia, provides several levels of care including separate IOP and outpatient treatment programs for adults and teenagers as well as a PHP for adults. Before entering treatment, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that combines psychological testing and a clinical interview. This evaluation helps the team determine the most effective personalized care strategy customized to the individual client’s specific needs and goals.

While the duration of PHP varies depending on the individual, treatment typically lasts between six and 10 weeks. Clients engage in individual and group therapy, and Seeds of Hope synchronizes a plethora of therapeutic methods including evidence-based, nutritional, holistic and innovative new therapies like biosound healing and biofeedback, where clients learn to control bodily processes that are normally involuntary, such as muscle tension, blood pressure and heart rate. There are four group sessions a week, four one-on-one sessions a week and between two and three psychiatric sessions a week. Family therapy is also offered but not required.

Nutrition is an integral component in the programming. Clients work with a dietitian to cook and learn how to prepare healthy meals. A group discussion follows many meals to help individuals process their feelings.

The Seeds of Hope team is comprised of licensed counselors, dietitians, nutritionists, psychiatrists and therapists. For clients with co-occurring disorders, dual diagnosis support is available.

Extras

Seeds of Hope offers daily yoga, meditation, guided spirituality and mindfulness classes as well as art therapy. There is a flexible IOP for adolescents and teenagers that require a consistent therapy structure while remaining in school.

In Summary

With 16 locations across Pennsylvania, Seeds of Hope is a treatment facility that specializes in the care of adult, teenage and adolescent clients struggling with eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. In addition, Seeds of Hope provides dual diagnosis support for individuals with co-occurring psychiatric conditions. With comprehensive PHP, IOP and outpatient treatment and an client-centered approach with personalized programming, Seeds of Hope is an excellent option for clients seeking help for eating disorders.
