Treatment and Staff
During intake, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that includes nutrition, medical behavioral, clinical, fitness and holistic evaluation. The assessment helps the Resort 12 team design the best possible individualized treatment program personalized to the specific needs and goals of the client. If deemed necessary, clients enter Resort 12’s medical detox program situated in the on-site full-service Mountain View Hospital. While in detox, clients receive medication to help curb the uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms, and are supervised by an around-the-clock medical staff.
Following detox, clients typically transition into the residential facility. The duration of residential care varies depending on the specific needs of the client. The facility offers a 60 and 90 day program as well as a 28 day accelerated plan and a tailored plan customized to the individual. In treating a broad array of alcohol and substance use disorder, eating disorders and co-occurring mental illnesses for LGBTQ residents, Resort 12 offers an integrated philosophy to treatment that utilizes a plethora of therapeutic methods designed for personalized care. Therapies include nutrition education, fitness, physical and massage therapy, holistic methods and evidence-based models. Residents engage in individual and group sessions with therapists that employ psychoanalysis, the 12-step method, CBT and EMDR to treat trauma as a causal component of a current condition. In addition, the facility offers mindfulnesses, art therapy, yoga and process groups that focus on sex, body image and relapse prevention.
The Resort 12 team is comprised of a 20 person medical team led by Dr. Suttipan Takkapajit, a clinical psychiatrist. Medication management is available for clients in need of dual diagnosis support.

Resort 12 believes that a strong aftercare program is an integral component to the success of a sustainable long-term recovery. To this end, clients are welcome to participate in an eight-week program following their discharge from the facility, free of charge. Clients and counselors meet regularly over video chat to discuss relapse prevention skills.
