The Basics
From its start as the state’s first AA group in the 1950s, Recovery Centers of Arkansas has grown to be the largest substance abuse treatment provider in Arkansas. Offering their services to the Little Rock community at four locations—two residential homes, one outpatient clinic and a sober living facility—is aims to help individuals and families achieve a sober lifestyle using the 12 steps. Treatment options for men and women include inpatient, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), traditional outpatient and transitional housing as well as relapse prevention.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP program at Recovery Centers ideally serves as step-down treatment for individuals who have completed their inpatient track. The program lasts nine weeks and requires attendance at a minimum of one individual counseling session per week and three CBT-based group sessions—available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Group topics include addiction education, relapse prevention, anger management, communication skills and wellness. Involvement in a 12-step program is mandatory and attendance is monitored. Staff consists of LADCs, LPCs and CSACs.
The traditional outpatient track follows the same requirements, but requires attendance at at least two group sessions per week. This program is ideal for clients who have a strong sober-support system and are actively involved in a 12-step program.
Extras
RCA also offers sober living services to clients transitioning from treatment to recovery. The program provides both a safe and sober environment as well as employment opportunities. Clients who have completed inpatient treatment and who are still active in the IOP or outpatient programs are invited to join their sober living community.
