Founded in 2001 by counselor Richard Sirota, Rational Treatment Services (RTS) is an outpatient treatment facility that offers substance abuse and mental health counseling in two locations in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington.
Treatment and Staff
Richard Sirota, a LICSW and CDP, is the sole operator and counselor at both Seattle and Bellevue locations, each able to accommodate up to 15 clients. The main medical facility in Bellevue is open four days a week and the Seattle office is open one day a week in an office setting.
Treatment works within the structure of individual therapy using CBT, with additional support offered for clients with a dual diagnosis. Clients are introduced to SMART Recovery, which is a alternative to 12-step, and RTS is one of the few treatment programs in the region that offers both CBT and SMART Recovery. While the AA/NA approach to recovery is not part of the treatment program at RTS, it does support clients’ 12-step work and attendance at local meetings outside of treatment. Length of the program is based on the needs of the client and can range from a few months to a year. RTS does not offer detox but does work with outside facilities.
Video counseling for substance abuse, mental health and dual diagnosis treatment is offered to out of area clients. RTS also offers weekly men’s groups for both substance abuse and mental health counseling.
