Accommodations and Food
Clients stay in a Georgian manor house. It has 35 private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The facility feels more like an upscale, boutique hotel than a clinic. It boasts spacious and comfortable accommodations and amenities. Residents enjoy an award winning restaurant, a game room, a greenhouse and landscaped gardens. Clients have access to a TV room that has cable, along with several other quiet areas of the home. Housekeeping service is included.
The residence serves healthy, delicious meals in the on-site restaurant. There are several different menus options daily. Additionally, residents have access to snacks, coffee and tea throughout the day.
Treatment and Staff
Priory offers a free, no strings attached assessment for all incoming clientele. If the facility and program seems like a good fit, clients are able to start treatment very quickly. If needed, there is a seven day detox them through the dangerous withdrawal process. A medical staff supervises around the clock.
The residential track is 28 days. Staff involve clients in all decisions regarding their treatment. The addiction program treats a wide variety of issues, not limited to substance abuse. Help for gambling, sex addiction, internet addiction and eating disorders is available. A typical day has several group sessions that address relapse prevention, codependency and triggers. Group sessions are capped at 12 clients with two therapists facilitating. The groups usually last 90 minutes, to two and a half hours. There are also several individual sessions during a treatment week.
Treatment methods include CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) Schema Therapy.
There is a diverse team of clinicians at this facility. Priory Hospital Glasgow employs psychologists, addiction therapists, counselors and consulting psychiatrists.
Extras
The facility is close to Queens Park. When clients are not participating in some sort of treatment activity, they are able to walk to the park or go boating on the lake.
