The Basics
With a several locations throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Missouri and Oklahoma, Preferred Family Healthcare offers both residential and outpatient programs for addiction and mental health. The CARF-accredited organization has over 145 facilities throughout the country, with 53 locations providing outpatient treatment for substance abuse to adults and adolescents.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an initial assessment and intake evaluation so that counselors may develop an individualized treatment plan for them. Though the intensity of each plan many vary, all programs include individual and group therapy rooted in evidence-based practices, such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as 12-step integration. Group topics include addiction as a disease, relapse prevention strategies, stress management, coping skills and healthy family dynamics. Dual diagnosis support is also available.
The staff is wide-ranging and includes psychologists, psychiatrists, RNs, LCSWs, family therapists, CSACs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Preferred Family Healthcare also offers residential programs with several locations throughout the Midwest. Though treatment is largely the same, inpatient programming may offer more support for co-occurring disorders as well as some holistic treatment options, like music and art therapy.
