The Basics
Pinnacle Treatment Services of Aliquippa (most commonly referred to as PTSA) is an outpatient facility that provides Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), as well as group and individual therapy in a 12-step based setting. Located in its namesake, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, PTSA has provided treatment services since 2006 and now operates several facilities throughout the east coast. This CARF-accredited organization offers programs to adult men and women, and serves over 8,000 clients a year.
Treatment and Staff
PTSA primarily treats clients who who need to manage an opioid addiction and are offered a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment through evidence-based practices. In general, clients receive a daily dose of methadone with the goal of tapering off as the they level out and cravings are reduced. Suboxone and other MAT medications may also be available. If required, anti-craving medication is offered in conjunction with MAT and weekly counseling.
Group and individual sessions are conducted on an individualized basis. Groups are small and held throughout the day in order to provide flexibility for work and home commitments. They focus on coping skills, communication, physical health and relapse prevention. PTSA also holds psychoeducation lectures and classes and offers referrals to local AA/NA meetings, as the staff emphasizes the importance of creating a support community and getting a sponsor. In addition to the comprehensive opioid treatments, it also offers alcohol-oriented programs through the PTSA network at large.
Staff is comprised of Master’s-Level counselors including LPCs and LADCs, and a medical staff of LPNs, RPNs and physicians.
Extras
PTSA also has a family program that consists of individual therapy and psychoeducation. Referrals to additional medical or community services are also available.
