The Basics
Baltimore’s Pine Heights Treatment Center is part of the CRC Health Group, operating as an outpatient facility that specializes in detox and medication-assisted treatment for drug addicts in recovery. It offers daily dosing of methadone or Suboxone to individuals addicted to opiates and is easily accessible to anyone located in or close to Baltimore.
Treatment and Staff
Pine Heights considers itself a “long-term maintenance program,” gearing its service toward individuals with years of opiate abuse or relapse. The program starts with a screening interview over the phone, followed by an in-person assessment with a doctor. After the staff determines that the individual requires medication to get over opiate addiction, the client can begin getting daily medication from Pine Heights. Methadone and Suboxone are both offered and a doctor decides which medication is most appropriate for each client.
Duration of treatment is up to the client and doctor but typically the program lasts between six months to a year or more. Pine Heights is open mornings Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 11:30. Clients can come anytime within those hours and will only need about 15 minutes for treatment.
Pine Heights also provides individual therapy with an LADC to clients once a month and group therapy approximately twice a month that has a different recovery topic every session. Counseling, both individual and group, is included in the price of treatment.
Clients are encouraged to attend 12-step meetings in tandem with their medication to help in the recovery process.
