The Basics
Pacifica Counseling is a substance abuse and mental health treatment provider and an approved facility by the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. Located in Seattle, Washington, Pacifica Counseling is an outpatient care provider that helps clients find the cause for their addiction through evidence-based therapy and support for co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse treatment program at Pacifica Counseling offers basic outpatient services, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a more specialized co-occurring disorders program. Treatment begins with an assessment of the client to develop an individualized treatment plan which determines the frequency of sessions needed and which counselor best suits each client.
The IOP entails six- to nine-hours of counseling per week while basic outpatient is one- to five-hours per week. Both programs require at least one hour of individual therapy per week as well.
The various groups offered utilize CBT and include gender-specific groups, addiction education for beginners, relapse prevention and family group. The co-occurring disorders program consists of both individual and group sessions, counseling designed for the individual’s particular mental disorder and uses educational seminars to cover topics such as the nature of addiction as a disease and coping skills. The 12 steps are not integrated into the program.
The staff at Pacifica Counseling consists of LPCs, CADCs and MSWs each with over five years of experience.
Extras
In addition to treatment for substance abuse and addiction, Pacifica Counseling has programs for a variety of other social and behavioral problems and disorders. Additional services include treatment for childhood trauma, PTSD, learning disabilities, depression and other mental health disorders.
