The Basics
Next Level Recovery is a Utah based outpatient addiction rehab that offers evidence-based treatment and the option to stay at a sober living facility. Clients experience the “whole-life” approach during the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which entails group and individual therapy that is entirely customizable to suit each person’s specific needs. The founders of Next Level Recovery are husband and wife team, Mike and Renee Brown. They opened this facility in 2004, after many years in sobriety themselves, so they can dedicate their lives to helping others find peace in recovery.
Treatment and Staff
The outpatient programming at Next Level Recovery is really flexible, so clients can basically maintain their regular schedules while going through treatment. Programming addresses substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Though detox services are not provided on site, the staff is able to refer clients to a medical program prior to admission.
At the beginning of treatment clients sit down with a therapist and put together an individualized treatment plan that includes a series of goals. There are a number of coping and life skills taught, in addiction to a focus on relapse prevention, identifying triggers and managing stress.
During treatment clients can expect a number of evidence-based approaches, like CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). There are also a number of trauma-informed care practices implemented such as Seeking Safety. Clients have a regular schedule of group sessions and usually one individual session per week. The programming is personalized, so there isn’t a set treatment length.
Treatment at Next Level is not based on the 12 steps, through they certainly don’t discourage clients from seeking out additional support through AA/NA. Additionally, there are specialty tracks for clients with neurological differences that focuses on home life, goals, relationships and vocational training. There is also a program specifically for clients with a porn addiction.
Staff is comprised of Master’s-level therapists, LPCs and CADCs.
Extras
The sober living housing, known as Mike Brown’s House, offer private and semi private bedrooms that are fully furnished. There is an on-site manager 24 hours a day, Wifi throughout the house, TVs with cable, parking and a washer and dryer.
Art and music therapy are incorporated into treatment, as is trauma-informed yoga.

It’s an excellent resource for anyone struggling with addiction and/or a dual diagnosis.
