The Basics
Southern California based New Creation Treatment is a Christian centered facility that offers a series of services including detox, residential and outpatient programming for women. Treatment is aimed at dual diagnosis clientele and provides structured tracks that include the 12 steps, spiritual guidance, group and individual therapy, medication and holistic, experiential therapies. Outpatient offerings through New Creation Treatment consist of an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and standard, step-down OP.
Treatment and Staff
In some cases, the PHP or IOP through this facility is the next step in treatment for those who went through either the detox phase or had residential care. But it is also an ideal step for those who can’t stay in-house at the facility but still need structured treatment and accountability. The IOP is 10 to 12 hours per week—either a private, one on one setting exclusively, or with a number of group sessions. The PHP is more intensive and offers up to six hours of programming per day with a meal included.This track offers both individual and group therapy regularly.
The IOP involves evidence-based treatment approaches and AA/NA meetings, which include help with getting a sponsor, and Big Book study. Therapeutic protocols include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and trauma-informed care. The gender-specific programming allows for specialized treatment that focuses on issues that frequently affect women who are dealing with an addiction. Group and individual sessions address the history of drug abuse, past traumatic experiences, feelings of shame, grief and loss and relapse prevention techniques. There are a number of vocational training opportunities along with any medical concerns.
A central element to treatment at New Creation is for dual diagnosis clientele, who have access to medication management throughout their time in their program. Additionally the faith based programming offers guidance and spiritual counseling, and clients do participate in Bible study.
The staff is made up of CADCs, LMFTs and medical staff.
Extras
There are a number of continuing care options offered through New Creation, including an alumni program that consists of regular social meet ups and day trips, a sober living option and fellowships throughout Southern California. Clients and their family members are also provided with therapy and codependency treatment.
In Summary
The outpatient programs at New Creation Treatment are very similar to the residential tracks in that they are structured but individualized, and focus on Christian values and self empowerment. With plenty of flexible treatment hours, a solid mix of evidence-based and spiritual programming, and a robust alumni network, this is a very healthy atmosphere for women who need to get sober.
