The Basics
Montecatini is a treatment facility designed to help women who are suffering from eating disorders. It is located in beautiful Carlsbad, California, which boasts some of Southern California’s most scenic and relaxing beaches. The outpatient facility is located just 10 minutes away from Montecatini’s residential facility, making it an excellent option for both those who’d like to continue the recovery they began in inpatient care, in addition to those who would like to begin their recovery journey with an outpatient program.
Treatment and Staff
The program at Montecatini is based on the belief that healing requires balance and connection of one’s mind, body, and spirit. Clients in Montecatini’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) have access to care from Monday to Saturday, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, and on some days, evening hours are also available. While in care, clients receive both individual and group therapy, and partake in two supported meals and two supported snacks each day. Clients who are closer to returning to work or school can enroll in the facility’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), which has flexible scheduling options, and offers individual and group therapy, as well as one supported meal and snack per session. Individuals with dual diagnoses can also find treatment for their co-occurring disorders at Montecatini, where staff is specially trained in dealing with the intersection between eating disorders and issues such as depression, anxiety and trauma. Twelve-step meetings and program information are also available, as are other spiritual recovery options.
In addition to therapies like CBT and DBT, the staff at Montecatini treats clients using a number of expressive therapies, including meditation sessions, yoga, grocery shopping guidance and clothes shopping guidance. Treatment at Montecatini can run from around four to eight weeks.
Extras
In addition to artistic and mindfulness based therapies, Montecatini offers fun and constructive therapeutic activities like beach days. Clients can also work with their loved ones in family therapy, and can work on things like action planning and meaning making.
