Lyric Recovery Services Review
Lyric Recovery Services is a San Jose, California based outpatient addiction treatment program. It’s for adults who are dealing with addiction issues but are not in need of a residential program. The programming, which includes an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is entirely customized. It includes group and individual therapy, psychoeducation and holistic treatment practices. In addition to the standard treatment options, this facility also provides intervention, sober companions and sober transport services.
Treatment and Staff
The IOP at Lyric involves clients coming to the facility three times a week for three hours at a time. Programming is not based on the 12 steps, but rather incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches and holistic protocols. However, Lyric does offer a non-traditional approach to the 12 steps because while it is not based on those principles, it does support the theory behind them.
The main methods of treatment at Lyric are DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This is utilized during both individual and group therapy. There is also a significant amount of time in treatment focusing on clients connecting the body and mind using an array of holistic therapies. Clients have sessions that include meditation, mindfulness, yoga and Tai Chi in order to find this balance.
Typically the IOP meets in the evenings from 6 to 9 pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, while the family program runs on Wednesday nights from 6 to 8 pm.
Other sessions in both one and one and group settings focus on goals within the program along with their progress, relationships, managing cravings, coping with triggers and relapse prevention. Groups often discuss codependency, difficult emotions, stress and psychoeducation. There are also medication management services and programming options for clients with a dual diagnosis.
The treatment team is led by the founder, Donna Miller, who is a CADC. It includes an RPC, LMFT, LPT/LVN, LAADC, SAP, Master’s-level therapists, and a therapeutic yoga instructor.
Extras
Lyric Recovery has an aftercare program for graduates of the outpatient track. This program consists of weekly group therapy sessions and is completely free of charge.
Other elements of treatment at this facility include art therapy, a relapse prevention specific track, and addiction education for the family.
