The Basics
Located in the beach community of Boca Raton, Florida, Let’s Grow Well Together, Inc. is a non-profit counseling organization dedicated to providing affordable outpatient substance abuse treatment. Opened in 1998, LGWT offers a wide range of therapeutic services for the community at a sliding scale fee, making treatment affordable for all. With programs for both adults and adolescents, LGWT works with families and couples using evidence-based treatment methods including group and individual therapy to facilitate a healthier lifestyle and a foundation of support for long-term recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Before a client can begin treatment, they must complete a two-part assessment either online or in person ($130). The first step is determining each client’s level of risk with an intake coordinating counselor. The second part of the assessment is the development of an individualized treatment plan tailored to the unique needs of the client.
It is recommended that clients requiring detox do so prior to their assessment, as LGWT does not provide this service. Clients should only come on their own volition as LGWT solely works with individuals who are ready to commit to wellness and who are motivated to recover.
Clients are either enrolled in a six- or 12-week program. Frequency of attendance and type of therapy depends entirely on the individual. The most common form of treatment is group therapy with multiple groups available throughout the day. Depending on a client’s income level, groups cost anywhere from $35 to $65 per session. Evidence-based treatment is employed, including CBT techniques during groups. Individual therapy is also available with LADCs and scheduled independently.
The clinical staff at LGWT also offer anger management and a batterer’s intervention program in tandem with a dual-diagnosis support track. Individuals suffering from co-occurring addiction and anxiety issues, panic disorders, PTSD and depression are assisted. Clients are taught relaxation and stress reduction techniques as well as relapse prevention strategies.
Clients are also required to seek additional support from 12-step groups in the surrounding community. Attending 90 meetings in 90 days is recommended as is obtaining sponsorship and working the steps.
Extras
The LGWT counseling organization hosts many workshops for clients and the general public. Special celebrity speakers and organizations come to share their knowledge and tips for living a better and more meaningful life. Past workshops include parenting skills, how to fix credit scores, leadership techniques and career building tips. The facility also hosts community outreach events during the holidays.
Specialized programs including senior support services for clients over 55, life coaching for clients near program completion and couples and family programs are also available. All special programs are facilitated on an individual and group level and are typically available weekly.
