The Basics
Human Skills and Resources, Inc. provides CARF-accredited outpatient treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues with three locations in the state of Oklahoma. Facilities are available in Tulsa, Sapulpa and Claremore and services include assessments, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), general outpatient care and group therapy. With a focus on relapse prevention using evidence-based therapy, clients work on building a solid foundation for lasting recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Before enrolling in treatment, clients must undergo an initial evaluation. While support for co-occurring disorders is available through therapy sessions, referrals must be made for detox and residential services.
The 12-week IOP is certified as an ASAM Level II program and meets three times a week for three hours of group therapy per session. Clients also participate in hour-long individual therapy twice a month. Topics covered during group sessions include relapse prevention, life skills, coping mechanisms, family dynamics, relationships and processing. Treatment relies primarily on the use of CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques. This setting allows for peer bonding and the ability to work through issues with like-minded individuals. While clients are not required to attend AA/NA outside of the program, referrals to community meetings are available.
General outpatient is ASAM Level I certified and typically meets for two group sessions per week and two individual sessions per month with topics and structure similar to those covered in IOP. This program usually lasts for six months though duration can vary from person to person.
The staff at Human Skills and Resources, Inc. consists of LADCs, counselors and CSWs. Group sizes vary from eight to 14 at a time.
Extras
Human Skills also offers a special 12-week program for clients struggling with anger management in addition to addiction or mental health issues. Additionally, a 12-week course for cognitive restructuring is available as are DUI assessments.
In Summary
Human Skills and Resources, Inc. offers basic outpatient care for substance abuse and mental health issues through the use of evidence-based techniques.
