High Focus Centers Review
For the past 20 years, High Focus Centers has been providing New Jersey residents with evidence-based outpatient treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders. Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake and psychiatric assessment, clients work with staff to develop an individualized treatment plan that follows either a basic or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) track. Treatment consists of individual, group and family therapy, meeting two to five days a week for three hours at a time, and uses a balance evidence-based practices—such as CBT, DBT, psychoeducation—and holistic options such as experiential and expressive art therapy, yoga, pet therapy and mindfulness training. Programs also incorporate 12-step principles.
The adult program lasts for 16 weeks, offers peer support and works with outside clinicians. Though the teen program is essentially the same, it typically lasts for 10-12 weeks and focuses on early intervention as well as topics relevant to the demographic. In both programs, support for co-occurring disorders is available through additional counseling. Clients may also be subject to random drug screenings. The staff of the High Focus Centers consists of LPCs, LADCs, MDs, PsyDs, LCSWs and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
High Focus Centers also offers a comprehensive family program as well as relapse prevention classes on Saturdays that serve as aftercare for alumni. Additional help for clients who are recovering from opioid addiction is available through specialized recovery groups based on the Hazelden model.
Complimentary transportation is available from school to treatment for clients in the teen program.
