The Basics
The Healing Arts Research Training Center—or The HART Center—is a lifestyle and wellness facility that provides a variety of treatment methods with a holistic approach for individuals seeking emotional, spiritual and physical balance. Located in Memphis Tennessee, the substance abuse treatment program at HART offers an integrative approach to treatment combining traditional talk therapy practices and holistic therapies.
Treatment and Staff
The substance abuse treatment program at HART is highly individualized and services offered must be scheduled independently. Treatment includes individual therapy that utilizes EMDR, drug-free pain management and interventions for individuals with co-occurring disorders. Specialty group sessions are offered throughout the week including a women’s group and co-occurring disorders group. HART also offers a variety of holistic approaches to treatment with meditation, yoga, and therapeutic experiential processes such as HART Dance and Spirit Dance. The 12-steps are not integrated into treatment.
The staff at HART consists of an LCSW and a LADC.
Extras
In addition to HART’s unique substance abuse treatment program, a variety of other lifestyle and wellness treatment services are offered including mental health services, individual and family counseling, healing will of intention, release work and trauma work. There are also parenting classes and women’s services for single and pregnant women seeking treatment.

The HART Center is a holistic and spiritually based treatment center that implements alternative and experiential therapies to achieve results for recovery from substance abuse and other mental health problems. Through individualized structure and an integrative approach, this program aims to establish a foundation of spiritual recovery to sustain long-term sobriety.
