Driftwood Outpatient Review
Driftwood is a private recovery program that was established in 2016 about 30 miles southwest of Austin in Driftwood, Texas. The facility offers residential and outpatient treatment in a luxury setting. In addition to substance abuse treatment, Driftwood Outpatient treats client struggling with chronic pain. Driftwood ‘s multi-disciplinary treatment team includes board certified physicians and therapists who provide evidence-based cognitive treatment as well as holistic therapies.
Treatment and Staff
Driftwood‘s outpatient programs are a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Both are designed for clients who have completed the residential treatment program. Most clients stay in outpatient for about 12 weeks. Those fresh out of the residential program usually start at the PHP level. This entails attending group therapy each weekday for five hours, for about four weeks, while adjusting to life at home. After that, they step down to IOP, where they attend group therapy each weekday for three hours for about eight weeks.
Both programs include group therapy, individual therapy, neurofeedback, acupuncture, massage and nutrition education. Specialized pain management techniques include infared sauna, aquatic therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, biofeedback and mindfulness. Driftwood Outpatient’s treatment uses numerous evidence-based modalities, including CBT, EMDR and somatic experiencing. Clients have individual therapy three to four times each week, and are also encouraged to attend peer support meetings in the community, such as AA/NA.
Driftwood Outpatient’s psychiatrists and nursing staff can provide dual diagnosis support. The multi-disciplinary treatment team includes psychiatrists, a neurologist, several LMFTs and CADCs. Driftwood Outpatient also employs a massage therapist and chiropractor.
Extras
Therapists work with each client to create aftercare plans, which may include peer support meetings and on-going therapy. They also make monthly follow-up calls to clients to monitor their progress and provide support.
